Susan M. Bate to be Profiled in Exclusive Registry
Susan Bate continued a career of success after she was decared legally blind

INDIANAPOLIS, IN, December 31, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ms. Susan M. Bate, Retired Medical Social Worker for the St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in health care assistance.

After serving as a nurse from 1967 until 1985, Ms. Bate was declared legally blind at the age of 37. She then decided to become a medical social worker, a career she pursued for 14 years prior to retiring. Ms. Bate's expertise includes patient adjustment assistance and resource procurement. In her position, she aided individuals with low or fixed incomes in receiving their prescriptions through insurance carriers or Medicare. Ms. Bate lends her career accomplishments to her faith in the Lord and having overcome adversity.

She graduated in 1985 with a master's degree in social work from Indiana University, where she also earned a bachelor's degree in social work. Ms. Bate was an original board member for her local food pantry and a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, a women's fraternity. In her spare time, she volunteers for the Southside Bible and Greenwood Christian churches.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Bate hopes to explore opportunities in mentoring and consulting. In her spare time, she enjoys knitting, crocheting, traveling and reading.
